from Coach Ken R. Hello all. Sorry for the mass email. It’s fundraising time again for the AZ Junior Highpower Rifle Team. As some of you know, I’m the head coach for the AZ Scorpions Junior Highpower Rifle Team. The team’s main source of funding is this annual raffle for a fully restored CMP M1 Garand service rifle with a Springfield Armory receiver. The rifle has a brand new Criterion 30-06 caliber barrel, new hardwood stock (either walnut or birch), all metal parts have been reparkerized. The rifles appear as issued and are a piece of American military history. They’re also a great deal of fun to shoot. This CMP Special Grade rifle retails for about $1000 from the Civilian Marksmanship Program if purchasing on your own. More information about the CMP M1 Garand rifles can be found here on the CMP sales website. https://thecmp.org/sales-and-service/m1-garand/ Tickets to have a chance to win one of these amazing rifles are $5 each, 5 for $20. The drawing will be held at the Ben Avery shooting facility on February 18, 2024 during the annual Washington’s Birthday Rifle Match. Winner need not be present to win. The proceeds fund our annual trip to Camp Perry Ohio each summer for the National Rifle Championship matches held every July-August. Our AZ Juniors are a top 5 junior team in the Nation and have been national champions. The juniors attend the matches, all expenses paid, travel, match fees, ammo and lodging. Every ticket sold helps to keep the team going to the Nationals and helps keep the program costs to each junior at a minimum. We supply all rifles, shooting equipment, ammunition, loading components and coaching to the kids on the team and the goal is to help them earn a coveted US Distinguished Rifleman’s Badge. We teach the kids to shoot from three positions, standing (offhand), sitting and prone. They shoot at 200/300 and 600 yards. If you have kids aged from about 12 to 18 that are interested in learning to compete with an AR15 target rifle, feel fee to contact me directly. If you buy even just one ticket, it’ll be much appreciated. We have a great program and every ticket sold helps us continue to provide some of the best marksmanship instruction in the country. Thanks
in advance
